This week’s talk by Fr. Mike Schmitz focused on the virtue of hope — the steady trust that God’s promises are real even when life feels uncertain or dark. We reflected on Romans 5:3–5, which teaches us to “rejoice in our sufferings,” because through endurance we grow in character and hope.
Fr. Mike reminded us that hope, like faith and love, is relational. We possess hope when we rely not on ourselves, but on God who is faithful. The challenge is to live that hope openly, to share it with our families, friends, and even those who oppose us.
